Singapore's WSH management policy


Legislation:


The primary legislation governing workplace safety and health in Singapore is the "Workplace Safety

and Health Act" (WSH Act).

Employer responsibility:


Under the WSH Act, employers are responsible for identifying and managing workplace hazards,

providing necessary safety training to employees, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Risk assessment:


Companies are expected to conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and

implement appropriate control measures to minimize risks.

Employee engagement:


The WSH policy should promote active participation from all employees, encouraging them to report

safety concerns and follow safe work practices.

Teck Wah Enterprise’s policy is that work will comply with statutory provisions and all reasonable

practicable measures will be taken to avoid risk to employees or others. Management and

supervisory staff are responsible for implementing this Policy throughout the Company. They must

ensure that health and safety considerations are given priority in planning and day-to-day

supervision of work. All employees and subcontractors are expected to co-operate in implementing

this Policy and must carry out their own work, so far is reasonably practicable, without risk to

themselves or others. The objectives of our safety policy are: -

  • The prevention of personal injury.
  • The prevention of property and environmental damage.
  • That safety priorities are laid down.
  • That safety systems are monitored/updated on a regular basis.


Operation of this Policy will be monitored by the management staff. This statement of Company

Policy will be displayed prominently at all sites and workplaces. The organisation and arrangement

for implementing the Policy will also be available at each site and workplace for reference to by an

employee.
